PermaEdge Paver Edging is designed to provide the hidden support that keeps a paver installation where it belongs without leaving visible spikes or bulky edging above the finished landscape. Its flexible design allows the edging to move with the sub-base instead of fighting against it, helping the finished edge hold its shape through changing conditions.

Q: What is PermaEdge used for?
A: PermaEdge is used as an edge restraint for paver installations. It helps maintain the outside edge of the paved area while remaining hidden below the finished grade.

Q: Will I see the edging after installation?
A: It is designed to remain below the soil, grass, or mulch grade, so the finished installation doesn't have exposed spikes or visible plastic edging.

Q: Why does flexibility matter?
A: A hardscape base can move slightly with settling, temperature changes, and freeze-thaw conditions. A flexible edge restraint can move with that base rather than creating a rigid point of resistance.

Q: Can I use PermaEdge around curves?
A: Its flexible design makes it suitable for installations that include curves and changes in direction. Proper installation and base preparation remain critical.

Q: Is this the same thing as landscape edging?
A: Not exactly. Traditional landscape edging is commonly used to separate materials such as lawn, mulch, and decorative rock. PermaEdge is specifically intended as an edge-restraint system for paver and hardscape installations.

Q: Why shouldn't I just leave the paver edge unsupported?

Build the base first.
Good edge restraint can't compensate for a poorly prepared or poorly compacted base.

Think about the finished grade.
The goal is a clean transition between the pavers and the surrounding landscape, not an edging product that becomes the focal point.

Install the edge before you finish the surrounding landscape.
Get your restraint established before bringing in the final soil, rock, mulch, or other Finish materials.

Don't confuse restraint with decoration.
